Thanks to the generosity of the International Society of Protistologists (ISoP), ISEP will be able to award several travel awards for trainees to attend the 2010 ISEP meeting in Kanazawa, Japan (ISEP XVIII). For details of this meeting see http://homepage.mac.com/protists/
* These awards are intended to help with the costs of travel to ISEP XVIII for the most worthy trainees. * Awards will be open to Graduate Students and Postdocs. * Awards will be made on the basis of merit by a three-person committee drawn from the ISEP executive (Patrick Keeling, Julius Lukes, Alastair Simpson). * Postdoc applicants will be evaluated separately from Graduate Students. * Awards will be in the range of $US600-$US1200 (approximately). The precise number and value of each award is at the discretion of the committee. * Awardees must give a contributed presentation (poster or talk) during ISEP XVIII. * Awards are conditional on the trainee being a member of both ISEP and ISoP: You do not have to be a member of either society to apply. However, if you are offered an award you will have to join both societies in order to accept the award. * The deadline for applications is April 1, 2010. Successful applicants will be notified approximately April 15. Application Procedure: Prepare a one-page pdf document with the following information in this order: 1. Name 2. Position (i.e. Graduate Student or Postdoc) 3. Academic affiliation (University or equivalent) 4. Country of residence 5. Academic supervisor name, email address and phone number 6.
