Postdoctoral Position (E13) to work on Anaerobic Protists Print

In the Institute of Botany III, University of Düsseldorf, a postdoctoral position (five years, salary scale E13) is available starting immediately to work on the biochemistry, molecular biology and evolution of anaerobic protists. Current work in the lab includes enzymatic assays, cell fractionation, proteomics, bioinformatics, the transformation of Trichomonas vaginalis, and import of transiently expressed proteins (GFP and hemagglutinin fusions) into hydrogenosomes.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the ongoing work on hydrogenosomal protein import while having the opportunity to develop further projects. There is a Masters level teaching commitment associated with the position entailing three weeks per semester of lab practicals. Basic language skills in German would be advantageous, but not essential. Candidates should have experience in the field of microbiology, ideally with anaerobic protists.
